I just got two Soekris NET4801 units. Have not had time to power them up yet. They had been purchased in Jan 05 with I assume was the current version of Wolverine on them. Not much documentation on them over at Soekris that was useful(at least to me).
Can they run a current version of Coyote Linux? If so, how do I load it on the units?
One quick question about Coyote Linux, I had built a box using openSuSE and IPTables to support a DSL connection with two subnets. I liked the flexibility of it and would like to implement that on one of these Soekris units.
I would also like to figure out how to load the latest Wolverine code on the other to play with.
Thanks, Lyle Giese LCR Computer Services, Inc.

To load any of the Soekris models I netboot them from the bios monitor prompt using a set of hodge-podge scripts... I don't really have a clean way of doing this at the moment.
Loading OpenSuse or CentOS might be easier at this point if you have a large enough storage unit in them. The 4801 has a standard CF slot that you can load a 4 or 8GB card into. There is also a connection to attach a 2.5" hard drive - although you would need to order the hard drive mounting bracket from them.
I am using one of the net5501 units for development and testing. Unfortunately, they have discontinued the 4801... I still have 80 or so custom painted cases without motherboards.
